The Sandy Springs Conservancy monthly Trail Blazer walks return in 2025 featuring treasured Sandy Springs parks as well as parks in neighboring communities with expert guides to lead the way!

This year we are partnering with organizations and groups in the community on some of our walks. The public is also welcome! Walks take place monthly on Saturday mornings. Join us on these walks and check back for more through October.

  • March 8: The new Springway at Morgan Falls with the Sandy Springs Women’s Club
  • April 5: Explore the Morgan Falls area/partner walk with LaAmistad and guide Alex Allen of SSC
  • May 3: Outdoor art walk at Veterans Park, City Green and Marsh Creek Rain Garden with the Abernathy Arts Center with guides City Councilman John Paulson and SSC board member Cheri Morris
  • June 7:  Johnson Ferry North Trail of the Chattahoochee River NRA with guide Jack Misiura of Sandy Springs Conservancy
  • Sat July 12 Big Trees Forest Preserve with Big Trees board member Randy Pollard
  • Saturday, Aug 9 Island Ford, with guide from Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy
  • Saturday, September 5, History tour at Willams Payne House for the city’s 20th anniversary
  • October 11: Hyde Farm Park in Cobb County with the Sandy Springs Women’s Club

Details on Monthly Walks and Registration

Our popular Trail Blazers series of monthly guided walks take place once a month on Saturday mornings at different parks in Sandy Springs and neighboring communities. Our walks last 1.5 to 2 hours and are led by guides who share with us their knowledge/history and/or interesting facts of the location. Registration is required and space is limited.
