City Purchases Land on the Chattahoochee River

The beauty of the Chattahoochee River will one day be even more accessible thanks to a recent purchase of 6.58 acres of land by the City of Sandy Springs. At their March 17th meeting, City Council approved the purchase of property at 8901 North Island Ferry Road and has designated the land for future park use.

Located off of Roberts Drive, the property has 270 feet of river frontage and sits between two parcels of land that are part of the Island Ford Unit of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, a much beloved hiking and fishing destination in north Sandy Springs.
